Randal Lynn "Randy" Garrett, 64, of Martinsville, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 21, 1962, in Martinsville, he was the cherished son of AJ and Betty Jean (Wilson) Garrett. Randy found his soulmate in Kim (Sturgell) Garrett, and they joyfully married on June 6, 1981.

A proud graduate of Monrovia High School in 1981, Randy dedicated over 30 years of service as a Millwright for Methodist, Wishard, and IU Hospitals. His expertise extended to becoming a certified HVAC Technician, skilled welder, and fabricator-traits that exemplified his strong work ethic and determination.

Randy's spirit was characterized by an infectious joy for life; he found pleasure in working on his truck, fishing, and hunting-endeavors that often brought him closer to his beloved family. Known for his goofy humor and kind-hearted demeanor, Randy had a unique way of connecting with those around him, letting them know he always meant what he said. A firm handshake with Randy spoke volumes and he leaves behind countless cherished memories with friends and family who will miss him dearly.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Kim Garrett; his son, Raeff Garrett, and daughter-in-law, Shacotta Petty; his daughter, Kelly Lewis, and son-in-law, Bradley Lewis Jr.; as well as his beloved grandchildren: Eli Mitchell, Braylen Garrett, Octavia Garrett, and Phaedra Garrett. Randy is also survived by his brothers: Jim Garrett, Tim Garrett (Bonnie), Jay Garrett (Connie), Dale Garrett, and Terry Garrett (Del-Marie); his mother-in-law, Juanita Wesseler; and brothers-in-law, Joe Sturgell (Marie) and James Wesseler Jr. (Jessica).

Randy will be warmly remembered by all who knew him, as he is preceded in death by his beloved parents.

In honoring Randy's wishes, there will be no formal service. Instead, the family will invite friends and loved ones to gather for a celebration of life barbecue at Randy's home, located at 7495 Goat Hollow Road, Martinsville, IN 46151, on Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 3 to 6 PM. Family and friends are encouraged to share stories and fond memories during this heartfelt gathering as a tribute to a life well-lived.
