Phyllis Ruggieri

Phyllis Marie (Mann) Ruggieri, 75, of Avon, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on July 23, 2018 with her loving family by her side. She was born to Harris Abner and Ruby Marie (Brooks) Mann on November 22, 1942 in Detroit, MI. She graduated from Gerstmeyer High School in 1960. She married Michael Joseph Ruggieri on August 31, 1963.

Phyllis is survived by her loving husband of nearly 55 years, Michael Joseph Ruggieri of Avon; two loving daughters, Kathleen (Kevin) Pata of Indianapolis and Leandra Smith of Camby; four dear grandchildren, Michael Dane Smith, Peyton Marie Smith, Josh (Heather) Ring and Heather Ring, all of Camby; a sister-in-law, Rosemary Wheeler of IL; a niece, Linda (Rick) Blough; and a special furry friend, Lady. Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; Harris Abner and Ruby Marie (Brooks) Mann.

Phyllis was a Claims Representative for Anthem in Indianapolis for 20 years retiring in 2004. She was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crocheting, camping, fishing, trapshooting, traveling in the travel trailer and especially loved spoiling her grandkids. She lived in Mooresville for 16 years.

Family and friends may show their love and support at a memorial visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 with a Rosary Service at 7:45 p.m. in Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Father Glenn O'Connor will officiate Phyllis's celebration of life memorial mass at 9 a.m. on Friday, July 27, 2018 at St. Susanna Catholic Church, 1210 E. Main St., Plainfield, IN 46168.
