Paul Roger "Butch" Szalay, 66 years of age, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2010. He was born August 1, 1944 in West Virginia to the late Richard and Teresa (Monar) Szalay. Paul married Sharon (Moore) Szalay of Monrovia, IN on December 31, 1965.
Paul lived in Monrovia, IN for most of his life. He enjoyed woodworking, was the original green person, he recycled everything, loved animals, was always around to lend a helping hand and was one of the finest human beings you'd ever know. Before retiring in 2007, he was a Bricklayer for Local #4 Indianapolis Chapter for 42 years.
He is survived by his Wife, Sharon Szalay of Monrovia, IN; 3 Children: Cheryl (Shannon) Stidam of Lizton, IN, Dennis (Lori) Szalay of Stilesville, IN, and Laura (Robert) Johnson of Westfield, IN; 11 Grandchildren; 1 Brother, Robert Szalay of Greenfield, IN; and 1 Sister, JoAnn McCloy of MI. He is also preceded in death by Parents, Richard and Teresa Szalay; 1 Brother, Albert Szalay; and 3 Sisters: Mary Heaton, Irene Allen, and Erma Szalay.
Calling hours for Paul will be from 2-5pm, Sunday, November 21, 2010 and also from 9-10am, Monday, November 22, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. Keith Johnson will officiate the service at 10am, Monday, November 22, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary. Paul will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, IN.
