Norman Gene "Pete" Wilson

Norman Gene "Pete" Wilson, 73, of Mooresville, passed away Friday, May 30th, 2025. He was born August 21st, 1951 in New Castle, Indiana to his parents Charles Wilson and Mary Elizabeth (Weddle) Snedeker. He married Susan Elaine (Farr) Wilson on February 7th, 2009, and the two spent 16 beautiful years together.

Pete is survived by his loving wife, Susan Elaine Wilson of Mooresville; his children: Tammy Frazier, Tommy Wilson, Tony Wilson, Matt McMullin, Bizzy Wilson, Andrea Dunn, Justin Decker, and Robert Wert; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Charlene Wilson; brother and sister-in-laws: Robert and Cindy Bell and Sandra Farr.

Pete is preceded in death by both of his parents; son, Timmy Wilson; granddaughter, Kelsey Wilson; and sister, Sue Arthur.

Pete attended Southport High School, Class of 1970 and devoted over 30 years of his life as a firefighter and chief for the Perry Township Fire Department in Indianapolis, embodying courage and dedication. As a member of Moose Lodge #4300 in Sebring, Florida, and the Masonic Lodge in Brooklyn, Indiana, he formed meaningful connections with those around him, creating a sense of belonging. Pete found joy in watching NASCAR, a reminder of the thrill of life, and cherished the moments spent with his family, understanding the importance of love and support. His passion for dancing, playing shuffleboard, and cards brought smiles to many, while his talents in gardening symbolized his nurturing spirit and love for the outdoors. He had a deep affection for oldies music, especially from the 50s and 60s, allowing cherished memories to live on through song. His love for cruises spoke to his adventurous nature and desire to experience life to its fullest. Known for his playful teasing, Pete filled the lives of those around him with warmth and laughter. As the family patriarch, he will be remembered not just as a guiding figure, but as a guardian angel who provided unwavering love and support to everyone he touched.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 12:30 to 2 pm on Saturday, June 14th at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A memorial service will be held at 2 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Pete's memory to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation- Indiana Chapter, 8445 Keystone Crossing #135, Indianapolis, IN 46240
