Norman Norris

Norman Norris, 82, of Indianapolis, IN passed away Saturday, November 4, 2006. He was born November 25, 1923 in Indianapolis to the late Frank Norris and Katherine (Dugan) Strate. He married the late Edith (Hartley) Norris on November 28, 1947. Norman has lived in Indianapolis for most of his life. He was a 1941 George Washington High School Graduate and he also attended IUPUI for 1 year. He was a Navy WWII Veteran. He was a 50 year Member of the Mystic Circle Masonic Lodge #685, a member of the American Legion Wayne Post #64 in Indianapolis, IN, a Volunteer at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis, IN for 3 years, Indianapolis VFW Post #06606. He was a dispatcher for Courier Newsom in Indianapolis, IN for 17 years. Previously, he was a Meter Reader for IPL in Indianapolis, IN for 22 years. He also worked at Johnston Container in Indianapolis, IN for 6 years and Inland Container in Indianapolis, IN for 5 years. He is survived by 3 Children: Donna Hahn of Leesville, LA, Kathy Keown of Camby, IN, and Connie Henson of Indinapolis, IN; 13 Grandchildren; and 17 Great Grandchildren; also his fiance, Ethel Lawson of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by 2 Sons: David and Butch Norris. Calling hours will be from 3-8pm, Monday, November 6, 2006 with the funeral at 10am, Tuesday morning both at Jones Family Mortuary. Donna Hahn and Robbie Jenson will conduct the service. Norman will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery.
