Nicholas William "Nick" Elery

March 6, 1970 — August 4, 2025

Nicholas William "Nick" Elery, 55, of Indianapolis, passed away Monday, August 4th, 2025. He was born March 6th, 1970 in Indianapolis to his parents W. Dean and Janice (Schilk) Elery.

Nick was survived by his daughter, Hannah Nicole Elery (Fletcher Remley) of Camby; mother, Janice (Schilk) Elery; three brothers: David Elery of Indianapolis, Joseph "Joe" Elery of Lebanon, and Kurt Schreiner of Indianapolis; and one sister, Audrey McCann (Joe) of Zionsville.

Nick is preceded in death by his father, W. Dean Elery.

Nick attended Perry Meridian High School in Indianapolis and dedicated 30+ years to his trade, as a collision repair technician. He also shared his knowledge as an instructor at Lincoln Tech. A true jack of all trades, Nick embraced new challenges with enthusiasm, knowing that the journey was just as important as the destination. His passion for fishing brought him joy, especially the moments spent with his daughter, which he cherished deeply. A purist at heart, he found solace in spinning vinyl records during the evenings. His love for two-wheeled adventures was a legacy from his father.

Known for his adventurous spirit, Nick embodied energy, passion, playfulness, and sociability. He had a loving nature, mixed with a delightful eccentricity that made him charismatic. Family was everything to him, and he brought laughter to their lives as the biggest jokester. With a personality that was larger than life and an even louder voice, Nick had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone around him.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
