Nancy Faye Hawkins (Hendrix)

Nancy Faye (Hendrix) Hawkins, 81, of Camby, passed away Thursday, May 29th, 2025. She was born March 6th, 1944 in Scottsville, Kentucky to her parents Marshall Lee and Murial Christine (Bessenger) Hendrix. She married Ronald H. Hawkins on February 15th, 1980 and the two spent 45 beautiful years together.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Ronald H. Hawkins of Camby; two sons: Mark Wallace of Crawfordsville and James Hawkins of Plainfield; one daughter, Wendi Whiting of Brownsburg;12 grandchildren; and four siblings: Pat Francis of Kentucky, Richard Hendrix of Kentucky, Allen Hendrix (Marla) of Kentucky, and Marcia Carter (Eric) of Kentucky.

Nancy is preceded in death by both of her parents; three brothers: Follis Hendrix, Bud Hendrix, and Donald Hendrix; and one sister, Ann Shockley.

Nancy was a proud graduate of Scottsville High School in Scottsville, Kentucky, class of 1961. She devoted 33 years of her life to her role as a Pharmaceutical Technician at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis, and after her retirement, she savored every moment with her beloved family. Her heart was intertwined with the beauty of nature, as she found immense joy in gardening and a deep appreciation for all kinds of flowers. She relished the quiet moments spent reading and the peaceful hours spent fishing at Lake Monroe and Cataract Lake. Nancy was truly respected and cherished by many for her independence and loving spirit, leaving a lasting impression on those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 11:30 am to 1 pm on Tuesday, June 3rd at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm, following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
