Nancy Elizabeth (Pierson) Bill died at home surrounded by family and love on July 18, 2024.
Nancy was born to James Hunter and Ruth Ladd Pierson on September 2, 1944, in Decatur Township, Indiana. She joined her siblings JoAnn, Johnny, and Laddie. Jimmy completed the family in 1954.
Nancy attended West Newton Elementary School and graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1962. She went to work at Bridgeport Brass, where she met her first husband Thomas F. Ragan. They married in 1963 and Nancy became the mother to Tom's children Michele and Bruce. Soon Laura and Lisa were born to Nancy and Tom. Thomas Christopher was born in 1974.
She later worked for as a secretary for Bob Craig, Western Yearly Meeting, Golden Rule Insurance, a caseworker at Westminster Community Center, as a bookkeeper for the Pfenninger Agency, and as a consultant for Clinque.
In 1989, Nancy married Brent Bill and was welcomed by his sons Benjamin and Timothy.
Nancy was always active. As a child, she enjoyed growing up on the family farm and doing various chores and playing there. As she grew, she was involved in Brownies, Girl Scouts, Job's Daughters, 4-H, and activities at Decatur Central. As an adult, she enjoyed her connection with the family farm and her extended family, leading 4-H clubs, Girl Scout troops, involvement in school activities at Central Elementary in Plainfield, PEO, and more. She carefully tended vegetable and flower gardens throughout her life.
She was a life-long Quaker, growing up attending Center Friends Church in Decatur Township. Later she was a member of Plainfield Friends Church where she was very active on various committees and projects such as the Church Mouse Sale (where son Chris played the "Church Mouse."), taught Sunday School, and led the Young Friends group. Later in life she was a member of New Castle Friends Church, Muncie Friends Church, and West Newton Friends Meeting. She was active in every congregation to which she belonged.
She cared deeply for her family throughout her entire life. She provided care for her father and Aunt Pep in their final years. She was a strong woman with a quick wit and intelligence. She was deeply loved by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons Bruce and Chris, her parents, her siblings Johnny, Jo Ann, and Jimmy, and grandson Ryan. She is survived by her husband Brent, her daughters Michele Ragan-Schreck, Laura (Michael) LaPorte, Lisa Peterson, stepsons Benjamin (Yukari) Bill, and Timothy Bill, her brother Charles Ladd Pierson, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service and burial will be held on Saturday July 20, 2024, at White Lick Cemetery, Pastor Phillip Gulley will officiate.
A memorial service will be held at Fairfield Friends Meeting, 7040 S. County Rd 1050 E, Camby, IN at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Visitation for family and friends will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m.
Services have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville.
