Minnie Yvonne Shepherd

Minnie "Yvonne" (Murray) Shepherd, 89, passed away peacefully on October 4, 2024, at her residence. She was born May 3, 1935, in Sparks, Oklahoma to the late Calvin and Minnie (Dibbler) Murray. She married Angelo Shepherd on February 4, 1955, and he preceded her in death on October 5, 2007.

Yvonne is survived by her 4 daughters, Rhonda Shepherd of Mooresville, IN, Linda Whitman of Mooresville, IN, Shirley (Andy) Haynes of Morgantown, IN and Brenda (Paul) Lake of Winslow, IN; nine grandchildren, William (Michelle) Whitman, Matthew (Maci) Whitman, Daniel (Sara) Whitman, Amanda Bradshaw, Andrea Haynes, Autumn (Ivan) Lopez, Ashley (Jonathan) Horn, Brittany (Cameron) Connolly, and Lauren (Justin) Graber; , 23 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Susan McKinney. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her siblings Donitta Stowers, Dorma Richardson, Evelyn Ambuehl, Norma Freeman, Lavonne Love, Bill Murray, Joe Murray, J.D. Murray and 2 infant sons.

Yvonne earned her nursing degree and worked in several hospitals before retiring from I.U. hospital after 23 years. She was a very hospitable woman who loved the outdoors and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 11am -1pm on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service. Pastor Andy Haynes will officiate Yvonne's funeral service at 1:00 pm. Mrs. Shepherd will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville, IN.
