Michael Roy Watson

Michael Roy Watson, 71, of Plainfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23rd, 2025 with family by his side. He was born December 22nd, 1953 in Bedford to his parents Walter N. and Wilma L. (Clements) Watson. He married the love of his life, Nancy (Winstead) Watson on July 6th, 1974.

Michael is survived by his wife, Nancy Watson of Plainfield; two children: Brandy Woodard (Scott) of Plainfield and Tara Cummins (Tim) of Mooresville; five grandchildren: Ashley, Peyton, Dalton, Darrin, and Marshal; one great-grandson, Beckett; and one sister, Diana Eads.

Michael is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Michael, a proud 1972 graduate of Carmel High School, embraced life as the owner and operator of Design Graphics in Indianapolis for over 20 years. His dedication extended to the Mooresville Consolidated School Corporation, where he made a difference for more than a decade. As past president of the Plainfield Area Jaycees, he exemplified leadership and community spirit. Michael an avid NASCAR fan, cherished his unforgettable trip to Bristol and passionately followed other various sports. He appreciated life's simple pleasures and was often found soaking in the beauty of nature from his front porch, where he would watch the birds and squirrels around him.

A memorial gathering will be held from 1:00-3:30 pm on Sunday, February 2nd at Paul Hadley Middle School Main Gymnasium, 200 W Carlisle St, Mooresville, IN 46158. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm following visitation in the gymnasium. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
