Michael A. Ragan, 77, of Camby, passed away Saturday, June 21st, 2025. He was born May 6th, 1948, in Indianapolis to his parents, Loren D. and June Elizabeth (Donnelly) Ragan. He married Virginia A. "Jenny" (Howard) Ragan on April 11, 1970, and the two spent 55 beautiful years together.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Jenny A. Ragan of Camby; two sons: Christopher Ragan (Dee) of Camby and Nicholas Ragan (Sara) of Pendleton; four grandchildren: Paige, Leah, Jackson, and Hannah; and one great grandchild, Emery.
Michael is preceded in death by both of his parents and his sister, Lorenda Patton.
Michael graduated from Mooresville High School in 1967, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to service and community. He joined the United States Navy, where he learned the values of discipline and commitment before being honorably discharged in 1974. His 25 years as a Letter Carrier for the United States Postal Service highlighted his reliability and dedication, and his role as a Congressional Liaison for safety training exemplified his leadership and care for others.
A proud member of several organizations, including the American Legion Post 103, Mooresville VFW #1111, the Boy Scouts of America, the Speedway Conservation Club, and NALC Branch 39, he also served on the Madison Township Fire Department Commissioners Board. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout was one of his most cherished accomplishments.
Michael attended Mt. Gilead Church in Mooresville, and his love for woodworking, traveling, and fishing reflected his appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Known as a loving husband, father, and faithful provider, he inspired those around him with his unwavering dedication to family and the outdoors.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 5 to 7 pm on Wednesday, June 25th and from 10 to 11 am on Thursday, June 26th, at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am on Thursday, June 26th, following visitation at the funeral home. Michael will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
