Michael G. Martin, 67, of Camby, passed away Monday, December 14th, 2020. He was born February 8th, 1953 in Indianapolis to his parents, Robert H. and Marcella E. (Truex) Martin. He married Rita (Love) Martin on August 27th, 1976. He was a resident of Camby for most of his life. Michael is survived by his wife of 44 years, Rita (Love) Martin of Camby; two sons: Jack (Pamela) Martin of Louisiana and Brandon (Angela) Martin of Mooresville; two daughters: Dana Guidry of Camby and Renita (Josh) Skinner of Morgantown; 15 grandchildren: Thomas, Aaron, Brandon, Sean, Justin, Logan, Jayden, Christopher, Travis, Megan, Kathleen, Peyton, Desteni, Julianna and Jonah; seven great grandchildren: Ben, Stella, Emily, Elizabeth, Conner, Tyler and Jameson; and one sister, Linda of Plainfield. Michael is preceded in death by both of his parents and one daughter, Angela. Michael was a 1970 graduate of Ben Davis High School. He was a Utility Truck Builder for Altec Industries for 33 years before retiring in 2018. He was a member of Eternal Life Baptist Church. Michael enjoyed working on hot rods, especially his favorite blue 1973 El Camino. He loved spending time with family. Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 7 pm on Saturday, December 19th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Gary Fox will officiate a celebration of Life service at 7 pm following the visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. With the new instructions issued by the State allowing gatherings up to 25 people, we welcome friends to pay respects while continuing to follow social distancing guidelines and proper mask wearing.
