The Honorable Michael "Mick" Scott Jensen, 65, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on October 30, 2015. He was born to Edward L. and Evelyn (Kuehn) Jensen on July 16, 1950 in Lincoln, Nebraska. He graduated from Ben Davis High School in 1968, received his BS from Purdue University in 1972, and graduated from Indiana University School of Law in 1976. He married Laura (Russ) Jensen on November 26, 2013.
Since 1998, Mick was a Magistrate of Marion County Indiana Superior Court. Previously, he was a Senior Deputy Prosecutor for Marion County Prosecutor's office from 1976-1998. From 1974-1985, he worked for Indiana Prosecuting Attorney's office as Director of Education. He received a "Distinguished Service Award" in 1999 from the Marion County Drug Court. He holds a certificate in judicial process from The Judicial Conference of Indiana. He has been a member of the Indiana Bar Association since 1976. He was a volunteer for the Ben Davis High School Football Program. He lived in Indianapolis for most of his life and 16 years in his birthplace of Lincoln, NE.
Mick is survived by his wife, Laura Jensen of Indianapolis; a son, Scott (Cretia) Jensen; two daughters, Ashley (Nick) Spaneberg, Brittany Arnold; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Denise Chabre, Sherry Klepfer; and stepmother, Kay Jensen. Mick is preceded in death by his parents, Edward L. and Evelyn (Kuehn) Jensen; a son, Stephen Jensen; and a granddaughter, Bayleigh Jensen.
Family and friends may gather from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015 and 10:30-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, next door to Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Brittany Arnold will officiate Mick's celebration of life service on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center. The family has invited family and friends to gather after the celebration of life service for refreshments and fellowship.
