Michael Kenneth Firkins

Michael Kenneth Firkins Jr., 51 of Versailles, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 20th 2023.

Michael is survived by his daughter Michaela (Maxwell) Cathala of Monrovia, Indiana; father, Michael Firkins Sr. of Versailles, Indiana; 3 brothers: Todd (Cori) Firkins of Danville, Indiana, Jarrod Firkins of Noblesville, Indiana, Jace (Cristen) Firkins of Indianapolis, Indiana; 9 nieces and nephews: Seth, Sarah, Cole, Morgan, Malia, Versie, Audie, Ova, and Koen; Grandmother, Francis Firkins of Indianapolis, Indiana. Michael is preceded in death by his mother, Sheila Firkins and grandparents, William and Ova Kemp and Kenneth Firkins.

Michael was born October 26, 1971 in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Sheila Firkins (Kemp) and Michael Firkins Sr. He graduated from Decatur Central High School in 1991. He began his career as a carpenter, working alongside his father, which led to starting his own company. He proudly built over 250 homes in his career. In 2006, he turned his passion for trucks into a secondary career by opening up "Big Time Off-Road," and building 4 wheel drive trucks. He excelled at both with his inspiring vision and talent.

Michael loved going off-roading and attending car shows. He loved spending time with friends and family and his strong faith in the Lord was all encompassing. He was a friend to everyone he met, was loved by all and will be greatly missed.

A celebration of life gathering will be held November 4th at Jones Crossing Banquet Center, 4161 East Allison Rd, Mooresville, IN 46158 next to Jones Family Mortuary from 6pm to 10pm. Please dress casual, come share your memories at 7pm, and toast to a life that was well lived. Donations are welcomed and appreciated.
