It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael Christopher Dyson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who departed this life on January 23, 2026, in Greenwood, Indiana. Born on November 27, 1965, in Indianapolis, to his parents Ronald Lloyd Dyson and Brooke Lilly (McCoun) Kottkamp, Michael led a life rich in passion and purpose, touching the hearts of all who knew him.
A proud 1983 graduate of Perry Meridian High School, Michael was a skilled jeweler and the proud owner and operator of Alternative Creations by Michael for over 32 years. His craftsmanship and dedication to his work reflected his deep commitment to serving his community. Michael was a devoted member of Southport Masonic Lodge #270 and an active participant at Emmanuel Church Stones Crossing Campus, where he found fellowship and inspiration.
Michael was not only revered for his professional creations, but also cherished for his adventurous spirit and zest for life. He embraced his love for riding his Harley motorcycles garnering many monikers like Noah and Preacher. He enjoyed living life to the fullest as part of the 1% lifestyle. A passionate hockey lover, at a young age he showcased his talent on the ice, playing semi-professionally for the Indianapolis Checkers, where he earned the respect and admiration of his teammates becoming captain of the team.
Those who were fortunate enough to know Michael remember him as an honorable, charismatic, loyal, and loving man. He had an infectious smile and a warmth that brought comfort to those around him, creating bonds that will last a lifetime.
Michael leaves behind his devoted wife, Christina D. (Roller) Dyson of Greenwood; his beloved mother, Brooke Lilly Kottkamp (and bonus dad, Paul) of Indianapolis; and seven adoring children: Olivia Anne Evans (Dyson), Addison Faith Parker (Dyson), Broc M. Dyson (Madison), Kenneth B. Dyson, Amanda A. Harris, Todd M. Harris, and Christopher A. Parker, all of Indiana, along with three cherished grandchildren: Ava-Grace Lynn Evans, Harmony Marie Parker, and Kailyn Marie-Paige Harris. He is also survived by five sisters: Pam (Dyson) Bonnewell, Valerie (Dyson) Kelley, Karrie Marie Kottkamp, Laurie Campbell, and Shelby Dyson.
Michael was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Lloyd Dyson.
A memorial service to celebrate Michael's life will be held on January 30, 2026, at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville, beginning with visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The memorial service will commence at 7:00 PM, where friends and family will gather to share stories, remember his life, and honor his legacy of love and adventure. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
Michael will be laid to rest in a private burial at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton, Indiana, where he will find eternal peace.
