Max Shanklin

Max O. Shanklin, 64, of Fairland, IN died May 20, 2010. He was born on August 12, 1945 in Indianapolis, IN to Max L. Shanklin of Mooresville, IN and the late Violet (Carter) Shanklin. He was a 1963 Decatur Central High School Graduate. He was an Air Force Vietnam War Veteran. He married Jean A. (Gray) Shanklin on February 11, 1989 and she survives. Before retiring in 2010, he was a Senior Mechanic for United Rentals in Indianapolis, IN for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Jean Shanklin of Fairland, IN; 3 children: Julie Roberts of Greenwood, IN, Steve Shanklin of Camby, IN and Melanie (Jeff) Coleman of Indianapolis, IN; 4 step children: JoAnne and Tina Eaton of Indianapolis, IN, Micki (Steve) Grubbs of Indianapolis, IN and Alan Eaton of FL, father, Max Shanklin of Mooresville, IN; half sister Mary Dawn Hughes of Indianapolis, IN; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; 2 nephews: John Young of Mooresville, IN and Matt Beals of Indianapolis, IN. He was preceded in death by 1 son, Michael Shanklin; 1 sister, Karen Crouch; mother, Violet Shanklin; 2 step grandchildren: Troy Goss and Jason Noyd. Calling hours will be from 2-7pm, Sunday, May 23, 2010 and 10-11am on Monday, May 24, 2010 at Jones Family Mortuary. Phillip Meade will conduct the 11am funeral service.
