Mary (Granny) Wilson, 78 years of age passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009. She was born September 7, 1930 in in Liberty, KY to the late Columbus and Rosie (Pitman) Weddle. She married Charles Wilson of Brooklyn, IN on January of 1954.
Mary lived in Brooklyn, IN for 15 years; Indianapolis, IN for most of her life,and in Liberty, KY for 13 years. "Her love was family and work." She served and cooked for many people in Mooresville, Greenwood, and Indianapolis south side. She was "Granny" of Granny's Cafe in Greenwood. She was a waitress - cook for Granny Wilson's Cafe for 12 years in Greenwood.
Mary is survived by her Husband, Charles Wilson of Brooklyn, IN; 1 Son, Norman "Pete" (Susie) Wilson of Mooresville, IN; 2 Daughters, Sue (Sonny) Arthur of Indianapolis, IN and Charlene Wilson of Brooklyn, IN; 12 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren; and 1 Sister, Mable LaLonde.
There will be a Memorial Service for Mary at 3pm, Monday, June 22, 2009 with one hour of calling before the service. Bill Vanhorn will officiate the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or Indiana Make a Wish Foundation.
