Mary Elaine (Graham) Starkey

Mary Elaine (Graham) Starkey, 63, of Plainfield, passed away on September 3, 2023 in St. Vincent Hospital, Indianapolis. Mary was born in Indianapolis on May 25, 1960 to Ross Graham and Florence (Sparkmon) Bernhard. She married James E. Starkey Sr. on March 3, 1979.

Mary was a 1978 graduate of Monrovia High School. She worked for Gray's Cafeteria in Mooresville as a server for 10 years. Mary loved horses and enjoyed working and leading horse carriages in downtown Indianapolis. She enjoyed spending time at the lake and beaches of Florida. Mary especially loved family gatherings and anything her kids and grandkids did. She never wanted to miss anything. Mary was the person that always sacrificed everything. She was known for always helping others.

Mary is survived by her husband, James E. Starkey Sr.; 3 children: James Edward Starkey Jr. of Mooresville, Cari Shannon Beasley (William) of Mooresville and Ryan Adam Starkey (Jayce) of Mooresville; 10 grandchildren: Makayla, Devon, Cole, Mackenzie, Brian, Payton, Maddalynne, Trey, Nevaeh and Dawson; 1 great granddaughter, Willow; 5 brothers: Reggie, Bob, Ralph, David and Butch; and 3 sisters: Terry, Susie and Dana.

Mary is preceded in death by both of her parents.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4-8 pm, Thursday, September 7, 2023 at Jones Family Mortuary, 4165 East Allison Rd. Mooresville, IN 46158 with additional visitation from 10 am -11 am, Friday, September 8, 2023. Services will follow at 11 am on Friday. Mary will be laid to rest at Mooresville Cemetery in Mooresville.
