Mary Rather

Mary Olyne Rather, 86 years of age passed away Friday, September 24, 2010. She was born November 18, 1923 in Tompkinsville, KY to the late Jesse L. and Betty (Taylor) West. Mary married the late Paul W. Rather on November 22, 1941. Mary lived in Indianapolis for most of her life. She was a 1941 George Washington High School Graduate and was also a member of the St. Stephens Lutheran Church in Plainfield, IN. Mary was a Homemaker. She is survived by 5 Children: Paul L. Rather of Chesterton, IN, James W. (June) Rather of Lolo, MT, David (Kathy) Rather of Plainfield, IN, Nancy K. (Rick) Sauer of Avon, IN, and Christopher W. (Roxanne) Rather of Greenwood, IN; 11 Grandchildren; 20 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Granddaughter; 1 Niece, Betsy Weddle; and 1 Nephew, Tom Rather. Mary is also preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; and Sister, Bonnie McClain. Calling hours for Mary will be from 4-8pm, Monday, September 27, 2010 and also from 9-10am, Tuesday, September 28, 2010 all at Jones Crossing Banquet Center next to Jones Family Mortuary. The Funeral will be at 10am, Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Jones Crossing Banquet Center. Pastor Robert Rohrman will officiate the service and Mary will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
