Mary Edith Christie

Mary Edith (Mitchell) Christie, 93, of Avon passed away Monday, December 11th, 2023. She was born on July 11th, 1930 in Indianapolis to Joseph Raymond "Ray" and Minnie Mitchell. She married Edgar Leroy Christie on August 27th, 1955. They were high school sweethearts.

Mary is survived by her husband, Edgar Leroy Christie of Avon; one sister, Norma Garner of Plainfield; and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both of her parents; two brothers: Harry Mitchell and John Mitchell; and one sister, Ruth Blanck.

Mary was a 1947 graduate of Ben Davis High School. She worked as an office administrator most of her career and retired from I.B.M. Mary loved music and listening to Tom Jones. She enjoyed spending time with her family and boating with her husband on Lake Wawasee. Mary enjoyed traveling to Hawaii.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
