Martha "Jane" Smith

Martha "Jane" "Little Bit" (Morgan) Smith, 93, of Brooklyn, passed away Saturday, June 29th, 2024. She was born March 11th, 1931 in Dugger, Indiana to her parents Levi and Onie Cora (Lay) Morgan. She married the late William W. Smith on December 5th, 1949.

Jane is survived by her two grandchildren: Michael D. Neal and Christina Collins (Harold); two bonus grandchildren: Amanda Graves and Elizabeth Ritter; five great grandchildren: Taylor Lugo (Carlos), Ryan Neal, Cora Jane Collins, Violet Carolina Collins, and Holly Collins; four bonus great grandchildren: Abigail Ritter, Adaleigha Mullins, Sophia Graves, and Jay Graves; one great great grandchild, Luna Collins; one sister, Sue Snyder (Don); son in law, Jerry Neal; and several nieces and nephews.

Jane is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, William W. Smith; one daughter, Beverly Jane Neal; three brothers: Chuck Morgan, Levi Morgan Jr., and Bobby Morgan; and four sisters: Hazel Goodman, Laura Nash, Lois Hux, and Norma McCammon.

Jane was a 1949 graduate of Dugger High School in Dugger, Indiana. She was a member of Abounding Grace Worship Center in Centerton. Jane was a past member of Grace Missionary Church in Mooresville, Faith Missionary in Martinsville, and Brooklyn Christian Church. She was known by many to be an amazing cook and baker. Her pies being something she loved to make, as they were a favorite amongst family and friends. She was a faith driven woman who loved her husband and family very dearly.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 11 am to 12 pm (noon) on Friday, July 5th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Ken Hayden will officiate a celebration of life service at 12 pm (noon) following visitation at the funeral home. Jane will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
