Martha Lee Cooper

Martha Lee (Crawford) Cooper, 90, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully at The Springs of Mooresville on September 4, 2022. Martha was born in Tompkinsville, KY on January 16, 1932 to the late Marshall and Hattie (Short) Crawford. She married the late Myrel Francis Cooper on December 7, 1950.

Martha worked for Eli Lilly in the Insulin Department in Indianapolis for 25 years before retiring in 1992. She was a member of Five Points Baptist Church. As an expression of her loving nature she frequently visited with everyone at the local nursing homes. Martha enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids. She also had a love of fast cars.

Martha is survived by her three children: Karen Frances Brendle, husband Phillip of Mooresville, Diana Lynn Johnston of Mooresville and Terry Wayne Cooper of Mooresville; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great granddaughter.

Martha is preceded in death by her husband; parents; one daughter, Daisy Sharlene Pennington; one brother, Marshall Dale Crawford and four sisters: Shirley Francis Boles, Virginia Reynolds, Geneva Bymaster, and Joan Reynolds.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, September 8th and from 10 to 11 am on Friday, September 9th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 11am on Friday, September 9th following visitation at the funeral home. Martha will be laid to rest at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville.
