Mark A. Townsend

Mark A. Townsend, 62, of Mooresville, passed away Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022. He was born October 15th, 1959 in Indianapolis to his parents Jack Townsend and Carolyn (Tomey) Shoaf. He married Leone "Lee" C. (Creed) Townsend on September 5th, 1998. He was a Decatur Township resident for most of his life. Mark is survived by his loving wife of nearly 24 years, Lee Townsend of Mooresville; one sister, Vicki Townsend of Avon; one aunt, Beverly Moore of Greenfield; and also many cousins and friends. Mark is preceded in death by both of his parents. Mark is a 1978 graduate of Decatur Central High School. He was a Carpenter for F. A. Wilhelm Construction Company for nearly 40 years. Mark enjoyed working, playing softball, golf, and also playing cards with his buddies and an occasional trip to the boats. He loved spending time with his family. and his favorite thing to do was to aggravate people but even more he loved to make them laugh. Mark was a big hearted man, he was hardworking, loyal, giving and the role he was proudest of, was being a husband and taking care of his wife, Lee. Mark was always there for his friends and willing to help when needed and teaching his skills to others. He was very proud of the company he worked for and took great pride in the buildings he helped build. Family and friends may show their love and support from 1:30 to 4pm on Thursday, August 11th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 4pm following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
