Margaret Jane Tutewiler-Cox

Margaret Jane (Tutewiler) Tutewiler-Cox, 94, of Camby, passed away Saturday, February 17th, 2024. She was born September 26th, 1929 in Camby to her parents Clarence L. and Edith Fern (Stokesberry) Tutewiler. She married the late Garold C. Cox on November 24th, 1993.

Margaret is survived by one daughter, Laura L. Kearby of Monrovia; one grandson, Rob Kearby (Ashley); two great grandchildren: Hailey and Marcus Kearby; one sister, Kay Lynn Hatton (Rex); nieces and nephews: Laura Russell (Chuck), Sidney Stallsworth (Joe), Darcy Hatton (Chad Whaley), and Rex Hatton Jr.; and several great nieces and nephews. Margaret is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Garold C. Cox; one brother, Jimmy Tutewiler; two sisters: Barbara Ann Tutewiler and Shirley Ann Hancock; and one son in-law, Robert Kearby.

Margaret was a 1947 graduate of Decatur Central High School. She was an Accounting Clerk for WMH Block, Kenneth J. Galm Co. and spent 28 years for Sterling Medical Clinic. Margaret also worked for Eagle Magnetic. With the desire to stay busy, she retired from working twice. She was a member of Fairfield Friends Church for 50 plus years and a 75 year member of West Newton Order of Eastern Star #487. Margaret was the founding member of Mooresville Job's Daughters #135. She enjoyed collecting dolls, coins, stamps, family photos and memorabilia. Margaret took great pride in her extensive family genealogy research.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 3-530 pm on Friday, February 23rd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 530 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Margaret will be laid to rest at a private burial at Fairfield Friends Cemetery in Camby at a later date.
