Margaret A (Mays) Phillips, 78, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, July 15th, 2020. She was born October 23rd, 1941 in Liberty, Kentucky to her parents, Clifton A. and Dovie B. (Lee) Mays. She married Curtis Dale Phillips on April 15th, 1960. She was a resident of Mooresville for most of her life. Margaret is survived by her loving daughter, Melissa (Michael) Grace of Mooresville; three grandchildren: Melanie (Bradley) Wagner of Greenwood, Misty Vega of Camby and Matthew Grace of Mooresville; seven great grandchildren: Emma and Kara Wagner, Jasmine, Johanna and Jaxon Vega, Grant and Brantley Grace; niece, Belinda Peyton; and one sister, Ruby Hayes of Liberty, Kentucky. Margaret is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Curtis Dale Phillips; and one sister, Ethel Whitehurst. Margaret was a Head Teacher for LaPetite Academy Day Care for 20 years before retiring in 2001. She loved to read and enjoyed traveling. Margaret loved spending time with family. Family and friends may show their love and support from 12 (noon) to 1 p.m on Saturday, July 18th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. Pastor Terry Crist will officiate a celebration of life service that will follow at 1 p.m. on Saturday, July 18th at the funeral home. Margaret will be laid to rest next to her husband at White Lick Cemetery in Mooresville. Memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's memory to American Cancer Society, P.O.
