Maggie Hendricks

Maggie E. (Cooper) "Peg" Hendricks, 96, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 10, 2019 at her home. She was born May 21, 1923 to Richard Ballard and Nancy (Barnett) Cooper in Pennington Gap, Virginia. She married Claude L. Hendricks on February 17, 1939. She lived in Pennington Gap, Virginia for 28 years and has been a resident of Mooresville since 1951. Peg is survived by two loving children, Jim (Barbara) Hendricks and Mildred Lou Spoon; 14 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and 13 great great-grandchildren; one sister in-law, Evelyn Cooper of Evansville; and two sons in-law, Morris Franklin of Markleville, and Stanley Mason of Alaska. Peg is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Claude L. Hendricks; three sons, Jonathan Edward Hendricks, Michael Ray Hendricks, and Ronnie Joe Hendricks; two daughters, Joy Ann Franklin, and Mary Glenda Mason; one son in-law, Richard Spoon; two grandchildren, Rhonda Hayes, and Jeff Hendricks; four brothers and six sisters. Peg was a homemaker and a member of the Mooresville First Baptist Church. She loved to garden, both flowers and vegetables. She was a fabulous cook and baker. She also enjoyed spending time with family. Family and friends may show their love and support from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14th and 10-11 a.m. on Thursday, August 15th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, Pastor Jim Hendricks, who is also Peg's son will officiate a celebration of life service at 11 a.m, on Thursday, August 15th at Jones Family Mortuary.
