Mabel Wilcher

Mabel Evelyn Lee Wilcher, 93, of Mooresville, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2016. Mabel was born to William Oliver and Sarah Elizabeth (Murphy) Lee on May 24, 1923 in Liberty, KY. She was a sister to Dovie, Lorena, David, Elna and William Pearce (stillborn). She was a half-sister to Marvin, William, Chelcie Gay, Bradley, Denver, Illa Christine, Wince and Wilma Irene.

As a young adult, she moved to Cincinnati, OH for employment. She was a manager of the local deli and soda shop and later worked at Crown Overall in Cincinnati.

She married Estel J. Wilcher from Hustonville, KY on July 2, 1949. She was a loving mother of Karen Lee, Jeffrey Alan (died at 4 days old) and Michael Dwaine Wilcher. She was a grandmother to Eric Rogers of Mooresville, Lora Guernsey of Martinsville and Michael J. Wilcher of Mooresville. She was a great-grandmother to: Chelsea, Makenzie, Cole, Kendall, Oliver and Tyler.

Mabel was a Christian and attended the Mooresville Church of God for 45 years.

Her hobbies were quilting, embroidering and sewing. She also took pride in caring and raising all types of flowers. She will be missed and lovingly remembered.

Family and friends may gather from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2016 and 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Brandon Sichting will officiate Mabel's funeral service at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary. Mabel will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery.
