Mabel F. (Flake) Clay, 91 of Brooklyn, IN passed away Saturday, December 8, 2007. She was born December 15, 1915 in Martinsville, IN to the late Ora Flake and Amelia (Persinger) Flake. Mabel married the late Raymond A. Clay on October 28, 1933.
Mabel has lived in Brooklyn, IN for most of her life. She was a Laborer in Indianapolis, IN for 16 years and retired in 1980. She attended the Brooklyn Nazarene Church and loved to Crochet, Read her Bible, and Playing the Piano. She was also Recognized as the First Lady of Brooklyn.
Mabel is survived by 4 Children: Phyllis Stacy of Bloomington, IN, Robert "Butch" Clay of Monrovia, IN, Mary Griffin of Franklin, IN, and Martha Ditton of Bloomington, IN; 16 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren; and Several Great Great Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 1 Son, Billy Ray Clay; 1 Sister; and 7 Brothers.
Mabel's Calling hours will be from 2-8pm, Tuesday, December 11, 2007 with the Funeral at 10am, Wednesday, December 12, 2007 both held at Jones Family Mortuary. Jerry Smith and Frank Sams will officiate the Service and Mabel will be laid to rest at Brooklyn Cemetery.
