Lura Tucker

Lura Agnes (Shelton) Tucker, 75, of Mooresville, passed away May 14, 2018 with family by her side. Lura was born on July 14, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Eugene and Mary Bertha (McLellan) Shelton. Lura was the only child.

In addition to caring for her family, Lura worked in the restaurant business before retiring. She enjoyed playing cards with her family, family gatherings, reading a good book and caring for her many cats and dogs over the years. However, she will be most remembered for her love of scratching lottery tickets at every gas station or grocery store. Lura married Sony on November 8, 1957 and celebrated their 52nd Anniversary in 2009 before his passing. Lura will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Lura is preceded in death by her husband Sonny Tucker who passed away in July 2010 and many other family members and very close family friends, which we know she has met again in heaven.

Survivors include her children; Christy Leeper (Doug) of Mooresville and Forrest “Frog” Tucker of Greenwood; grandchildren: Doug Jr. Leeper (Whitney), Katie Paris (Sean), Chad Tucker, Amanda Kinman (Adam) and Marshall Tucker and Great grandchildren: Caden Paris and Donovan Tucker.

Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 - 11 a.m. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Chaplain Steve Kehrer will officiate the Celebration of Life Service following the visitation at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Lura will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery.
