Louise Newkirk

Louise (McGee) Newkirk, 72, of Avon, passed away peacefully at home on December 28, 2016, with family by her side. Louise was born to Henry McGee and Velma (Gregory) Newkirk on June 11, 1944 in Frankfort, TN. She was a 1962 Ben Davis High School graduate. She married Jesse C. Newkirk Sr. on December 16, 1964.

Louise was an Executive Chef for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis for 35 years, retiring in 2004. She was a member of Mooresville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 103. She loved gardening and spending time in her yard. She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. She lived in Indianapolis for most of her life and Mooresville for 22 years.

Louise is survivied by two sons, Ron (Kim) Newkirk of Avon; Jesse Newkirk Jr. of Indianapolis; four granddaughters, Kelsie Leverich, Jordan Frick, Madison and Rylee Newkirk; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Marlee, Gus; a sister, Mary Ann Burton of Indianapolis; and a brother, Roy McGee of Indianapolis. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a sister, Faye McGee.

Family and friends may gather from 12-2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Billy Gott will officiate Louise's celebration of life service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Jones Family Mortuary. Louise will be laid to rest in West Newton Cemetery.
