Lloyd Edward Snoddy, 86, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on June 7, 2011. He was born to Lloyd D. and Violet (Silvers) Snoddy on April 20, 1925 in Bloomington, IN.
Lloyd, a talented Mr. Fix-it, retired from Bridgeport Brass as Supervisor of Maintenance in 1982 after 39 years of service.
During WWII, he served as Gunner's Mate 2nd Class aboard the USS LSM 329 in the Pacific Theater. Within weeks of his May 1946 discharge from the Navy, he married his sweetheart, Ernestine Fuller. She preceded him in death in September 1974 as did a grandson, Michael E. Snoddy late last year.
Survivors include 2 sons, Lloyd Michael & James Edward Snoddy; beloved companion, Deloris Muncie; 3 grandchildren, Lori (Doug) Almond, Carrie (Eli) Hendry and Jennifer (Marcus) Wilson; 6 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Loretta (Ted) Condra; 1 brother, Dwight (Joan) Snoddy.
Calling hours will be from 4-8pm, Thursday, June 9, 2011 at Jones Family Mortuary. Doug Carter will officiate the 10:30am Graveside Service on Friday, June 10, 2011 at Valhalla Memory Gardens where Lloyd will be laid to rest.
