Litha Smith 85, Plainfield, died of natural causes Saturday, June 4, 2005. She was born April 3, 1920 to the late Silas Mills and Lillie (Broughton) Mills in Mills, KY. She had lived there for 20 years before moving. She married the late Paul F. Smith, Sr. in June of 1941. She lived in Plainfield for 34 years and Indianapolis for 31 years. Mrs. Smith was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Mooresville, IN. She was a member of Mooresville Senior Citizens Center and she had an interest and love of birds, flowers, roses and flower gardens. Mrs. Smith was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Tony Eugene Smith; three brothers, Edward, Hobert and Albert Mills; two sisters, Eva and Birdie Mills. Survivors include two children, Paul F. Smith, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN and Jerri L. Sidel of Ft. Wayne, IN; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Smith of Speedway, IN and Diceie Smith of Speedway, IN; and one brother, Clarence Mills of Mooresville, IN.
Visitation will be 4-8pm on Wednesday, June 8, 2005 at Jones Family Mortuary. Funeral services will be at 11am Thursday, June 9, 2005 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, Indiana and will be officiated by Steve Rich. Memorial contributions may be made to Mooresville Senior Citizens Center.
