Lela Britt

Lela "Claudine" (King) Britt, 93, of Mooresville, went to be with the Lord on November 20, 2016. She was born to Roy and Mattie (Sims) King on February 12, 1923 in Scottsville, KY. She married Leonard Britt on July 18, 1945.

Claudine worked as a Cafeteria Manager in IPS Schools for 24 years, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening and traveling. She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids. She lived in Mooresville for most of her life, but also lived in Indianapolis and her birthplace of Scottsville, KY.

Claudine is survived by three children, Kenneth (Mildred) Britt of WI, Dianna (Jerry) Hall of MI, Ronald (Robyn) Britt of Mooresville; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; a granddaughter, Deanna Hall; a sister, Shirley Bridgeman; two brothers, Calvin and Joe King.

Family and friends may gather from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016 and 10-11 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Pastor Everett Barnard will officiate Claudine's celebration of life service at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 28, 2016 in Jones Family Mortuary. Claudine will be laid to rest in Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown.
