Larry Wayne Dahl, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away on January 30, 2026. Born on March 27, 1953, to his parents William T. and Emma Z. (Zügel) Dahl, Larry was a loving father, a dedicated partner, and a cherished friend who touched the lives of many throughout his journey.
A proud graduate of Southport High School, Larry dedicated his career to the construction trade, working tirelessly for W.I. Construction. He found immense joy in crafting and building with his hands, values that shaped both his professional and personal life. Known for his infectious laughter and playful spirit, Larry was a jokester at heart, bringing warmth and joy to gatherings with family and friends.
Larry was a man who truly found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. He embraced riding his Harley with a sense of freedom, spent countless hours playing darts, and showered his beloved dogs with affection. He had a remarkable ability to care for others and always placed their needs before his own, a testament to the love and kindness that defined him.
He leaves behind a legacy of love, reflected in the lives of his long-time girlfriend of 30 years, Paula Scott, his beloved daughter, Lacey Dahl (Antwain Brown), as well as his two step-children, Toshia Lopez (Emmanuel) and Brittany Scott. His family continues to grow through the 15 grandchildren who adored him-Tony'o, Little Twan, DeVante, Jazzy, Allieanna, Lillie, Kacey, Sammie, Sely, and Bubby-as well as his four great-grandchildren, Mya, Nena, Little Sam, and Samir. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Pierle (Gary).
Larry is preceded in death by both of his parents, his son Jason Dahl, and his sister Caroline Purcell. The absence of his gentle spirit will be deeply felt by all who knew him.
A public visitation will be held on February 5, 2026, at the Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM. A funeral service in celebration of his life will follow at 6:00 PM. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville.
In honoring Larry's memory, let us carry forward his spirit of kindness and generosity, remembering the laughter he shared and the love he so freely gave. He will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
