Kenneth L. Mercer, 86, Mooresville, passed away May 15, 2019. He was born January 22, 1933, the son of Ross and Daisy (Snell) Mercer.

Kenneth served in the Army in the Korean War from 1953-1955 as a radio dispatcher. In 2018, Kenneth was able to take an Honor Flight to Washington, DC. He became a member of the Teamsters Union. A man with a strong work ethic in all areas of life, Kenneth was a truck driver for Roadway, where he was awarded the Million Mile Award. Kenneth was a member of the Knightsville Masonic Lodge #409 for over 50 years. He was an avid Colts, Pacers, and I.U. basketball fan. Kenneth enjoyed raising horses, gardening, loved kids, and was a true family man.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Ross Mercer. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 67 years, Delores J. (Hood) Mercer; his children, Janet Thompson (Dave), Jay Mercer, Julie Acton, Tod Mercer (Tina), and Cindy Tarleton (Bart); and nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services will be on Tuesday, May 21 at 12 PM at Jones Family Mortuary, 4165 E. Allison Road, Mooresville, with visitation from 10 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
