Kenneth Stuart Lader

Kenneth Stuart "Ken" Lader M.D. 68, of Mooresville, passed away on March 18, 2022. Ken was born on June 27, 1953 in Brooklyn, NY to his late parents Harry and Irma (Becker) Lader. Ken married Lori (Summers) Lader on September 1, 2001. Ken grew up in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Amherst, MA where he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry and later went through Med School and obtained his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts. In 1996 he moved to Mooresville and opened Prompt Med here in Mooresville at the former Kendrick Hospital where he was the Medical Director. Previously, he worked in the Emergency Department at Brockton Hospital as the Assistant Medical Director and was the Medical Director of the EMS Services in Bridgewater, East Bridgewater and West Bridgewater. The last 10 years of his career he worked for Community Physicians of Indiana at his Internal Medicine Practice in Mooresville. Ken was Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine, was a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and was very proud and willing to provide medical care during Hurricane Andrew. Ken was an avid cyclist and belonged to CIBA. He was very proud that he had completed the Hilly 100 in Bloomington on 6 different occasions and dozens of rides with CIBA. He was a WWII history buff and had the opportunity of a life time to ride in a P51 Mustang Aircraft. Ken was a family man and enjoyed camping and traveling with his family. He loved his family dearly along with his canine friend, Maggie. Ken is survived by his wife, Lori of 20 years; 2 step daughters, Rachel DuBois of Indianapolis and Cheryl DuBois and Jordan Piper of Indianapolis; 2 brothers, Gary (Deborah) Lader of Spring, TX and Eric (Eve) Lader of MI; brothers and sisters in law: Richard and Linda Summers, Kathy and Bernie Auberry and Cindi and Dan Nickelson; nieces: Susan (Stephen) Clothier, Karen (Brian) Hunt, Jennifer (Daniel) Lader, Rachel Lader and Sarah Lader; and several other nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Ken is preceded in death by his parents and mother and father in law, LaVerne and Kenneth Summers. Family and friends may show their love and support from 11-1pm, Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. There will be private family celebration of life following the visitation. Ken will be laid to rest in Mooresville Cemetery.
