Kathryn Newlin

Kathryn H. Newlin Age 88, of Franklin, formerly of Mooresville, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2005. She was born November 9, 1916 in Lyons, IN, daughter of the late Emmitt and Xada (Edwards) Harris. Kathryn was a 1932 graduate of Lyons High School, graduate of Central Normal College in Danville, and received her Bachelors degree from Butler University. She was an Elementary Teacher for 32 years. She retired in 1982, after teaching many years at Valley Mills Elementary in Decatur Township. Kathryn was a member of Mooresville Friends Church, Mooresville Research Club, Sugar Grove Home Economics Club, Alpha Delta Kappa, Mooresville Nature Club, AAUW & Federation of Womens Clubs. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa (Doug) Sherow of Indianapolis; a son, Harris (Sandy) Newlin of Ft. Wayne; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2005 in Mooresville Friends Church, Mooresville, with Sue Whitesell officiating. Calling hours are 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2005 in Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Graveside services and burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 2 in Prarie Chapel Cemetery, Lyons, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Mooresville Friends Church or Franklin United Methodist Church.
