Kathleen T Farina

December 22, 1947 — March 18, 2020

Kathleen T. Farina, 72, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 18th, 2020. She was born December 22nd, 1947 to parents, Thomas Farina and Dorothy (Young) Mace. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, she grew up in an Italian, Catholic family. Later she lived in Sparta and Nashville, Tennessee and central Florida; but lived most of her life in Indianapolis. Kathleen is survived by her three sons: Jeff Warren of Hendersonville, NC, Conrad Caudell of Cincinnati, OH, and Brian (Sherri) McKee of Mooresville; four grandchildren: Brittany, Courtney, Kyle, and Kaitlyn; three great grandchildren; brother, Chris Farina; and sister, Dee Ann Mace. Kathleen is preceded in death by both of her parents; sister, Patty Shoenberger and brother, Randy Young. A devoted mother and grandmother, Kathy worked hard to support her family; always put her family first; and helped others before taking care of herself. With her feisty, Italian, nature she had no problem fiercely defending her family or point of view. Kathy was an animal lover and after her sons were grown, she devoted her love and care to her dogs and had a reputation for caring for troubled dogs. She loved animals so much that she was often more upset about horses being shot in a cowboy movie than the cowboys. Kathy loved finding a bargain at a yard sale; collecting porcelain dolls; and Disney movies. She always felt a dual loyalty to both Pittsburgh and Indy and was a fan of both the Colts and the Steelers. A devoted Catholic, she was a parishioner of both, St. Christopher and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Indianapolis. Memorial donations can be made to any reputable animal centric charity such as ASPCA. Cremation arrangements are being handled by Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. In memory of Kathleen, a private memorial gathering will be held Saturday, March 28th from 1 to 3 p.m. To send a condolence to the family or to share a story about Kathleen, please visit: www.jonesfamilymortuary.com
