It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Katherine L. "Katie" Lollar Gladhill, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on October 2, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on June 20, 1960, in Indianapolis, to her parents Ralph Eugene and Betty Jane (Lewallen) Lollar, Katie embraced life with a passion that was deeply felt by all who knew her. She married Kenneth R. "Ken" Gladhill on July 19, 1997 and the two spent 29 years together.
A graduate of Decatur Central High School in 1978 and a proud alumna of Marian University, where she completed her Associate's Degree in Early Education, she dedicated her life to nurturing and caring for children, both in her professional career as a childcare provider and as a loving homemaker.
Katie served her community through Camby Community Church for more than 50 years. She was not only a devoted member but also a driving force behind the church pantry, and she volunteered her time and energy for countless activities involving children. Her spirit resonated with joy and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on lives both small and large. A passionate fan of Indiana University and the Indiana Fever, she shared her love for sports with her family, creating cherished memories around team celebrations.
Those who received a card or a text from Katie were fortunate; she had a remarkable gift for uplifting others, often providing inspiration. Known for her resolute "My way or the highway" demeanor, she balanced strength with an abundance of love, often reminding her family that she loved them to the moon and back, and to check in with her when they arrived at their destinations.
Katie leaves behind her devoted husband, Kenneth R. "Ken" Gladhill; her three loving sons, Kenis Lollar (Jodie) of Indianapolis, Justin Gladhill of Mooresville, and Sam Gladhill (Katie Cline) of Camby; three cherished grandchildren, Christopher Prince, Liam Prince, and Thomas Lollar; as well as her brothers, Kevin Lollar (Robbie) of Mooresville, Doug Lollar, and Ken Lollar of Camby. Katie is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved daughter, Sarah Lollar Gladhill.
In remembrance of Katie's inspiring life, we invite friends and family to gather for a series of services that celebrate her enduring spirit. Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and a second visitation on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Camby Community Church in Camby. The funeral service will take place on October 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM, also at Camby Community Church, followed by a graveside service at West Newton Cemetery. Katie's passion for community, family, and faith remains a legacy that we will carry forward in our hearts.
