Julian "George" Thayer

Julian "George" Thayer, 88, of Camby, Indiana went to be with the Lord on January 13, 2018. George was born in Indianapolis, IN on July 20, 1929 to the late Oel and Beulah (Plummer) Thayer.

George was a 1947 graduate of Washington High School. Following high school George served his country by enlisting in the Army and he was discharged in 1954. George was a supervisor for IndyGo for 10 years retiring in 1995. Previously, he worked for American Hoist and Derrick as a crane specialist. He also worked as a fireman for the railroad. George attended Grace Church and enjoyed playing euchre in his spare time.

George is survived by five children: Cheryl (Bob) Yarnell of Camby; Terri Kemerly of Highland Heights, KY; Joe (Bambi) Kemerly of Greenfield; Debbie (Todd) Kemper of CA and Patricia Thayer; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and sister, Nellie "June" Swindle. George is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannette A. Kemerly; parents: Oel and Beulah (Plummer) Thayer; grandson, Joe Kemper and two brothers: Walter and Everett Thayer.

It was George's wishes to be cremated and that there be no formal services. There will be a private gathering and celebration at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville.
