Juanita Joan Thompson, 81, of Mooresville, died peacefully in her home on Tuesday, March 13, 2012. She was born on September 3, 1930 in Indianapolis to the late Herman E. and Esther (Barker) Deitz. Juanita married her husband, F. Norman "Norm" Thompson, on December 4, 1948.
Juanita lived most of her life in Mooresville, 30 years in Indianapolis and 20 winters in Lakeland, FL. She was a 1948 graduate of Washington High School. She was an Insulin technician at Eli Lilly in Indianapolis for 20 years before retiring in 1986. She was a member of Life Line Baptist Church. As an avid golfer, she was club champion in Florida and also was blessed with 3 hole in ones.
Juanita is survived by her husband; 5 children: Karen Beam of Mooresville, IN, Linda Pacey of Walls, MS, Lora Butler of Danville, IN, Norman Thompson of Rockville, IN and Karol Thompson of Mooresville, IN; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Charles Deitz of Avon, IN; 3 sisters: Rosemary Warren of Plainfield, IN, Donna Sutton of Plainfield, IN and Rowena Brock of Seymour,IN. She is preceded by 2 sisters: Lucille Beck and Eldora Upton and 1 brother, James Deitz.
Calling will be 4-8pm, Thursday, March 15, 2012 and 9:30-10:30am, Friday, March 16, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary, Mooresville. Tim Lindsey II and Ray Fate will officiate the 10:30am service on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Jones Family Mortuary. Juanita will be laid to rest in Clayton Cemetery.
