Juanita K. (Kinser) Shields, 91, of Mooresville, passed away Thursday, February 8th, in Mooresville. She was born October 12th, 1932 in Bloomington to her parents Delbert and Thelma M. (Sowders) Kinser. Juanita married the late Elza "Lee" Shields on January 3rd, 1948.
Juanita is survived by her three children: Dennis Lee Shields (Kim) of Monrovia, Debbie Lynn Shields of Rockville, and Dirk Allen Shields (Mindy) of Mooresville; ten grandchildren: Kevin, Aaron, Thomas, Derek, Jerry, Randy, Katrina, Sabrina, Nikole, and Daniel; several great-grandchildren; and a handful of great great grandchildren.
Juanita is preceded in death by both parents; her husband, Elza "Lee" Shields; one son, Danny K. Shields; one sister, Freda Waldrip; and one grandson, Kyle Shields.
Juanita was a cashier for Richhart's Value Plus Drugs for ten years before retiring in 1994. She was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of Eastern Star in Monrovia Chapter #580 and attended Gasburg Baptist Church. Juanita enjoyed making wedding cakes, watching game shows, and doing word search puzzles. She loved playing Euchre.
Family and friends may show their love and support from 12 (noon) to 2 pm on Wednesday, February 14th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life will be held at 2 pm following the visitation on Wednesday, February 14th at the funeral home. Juanita will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Hall, Indiana.
