Juanita Rushton, 88, of Monrovia, IN passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2006 at Brandywine Beverly Living Center in Greenfield, IN. She was born on June 13, 1918 to the late George Franklin and Fern Jeanette (Morgan) Tuck. She married Robert W. Rushton on May 9, 1937.
Juanita was born in Indianapolis, IN but was a lifelong resident of Monrovia, IN. She was a 1936 graduate of Monrovia High School. She had also received a scholarship to attend Danville Normal College in Danville, IN but decided to marry and start a family of her own. She was a 50 year member of Monrovia Christian Church, Founding member of Monrovia Alumni Association, member of Monrovia Homemakers Club, lifetime member of American Cancer Society, member of VFW Ladies Auxillary Post #1111, member of Monrovia Christian Church Women's Council, member of both Martha Chapter #217 Order of the Eastern Star in Martinsville, IN (Original Monrovia Chapter #580 of which she was past Worthy Matron) and Mooresville Order of the Eastern Star #260, volunteer for meals on wheels in Morgan County for several years, lifetime Democratic Party Activist, and she was also a member of Mt. Pleasant at Hall Improvement Club.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Patricia Allen of Greenfield, IN and Kattie Tucker of Monrovia, IN; 1 son, Robert E. Rushton of Haslett, Michigan; 17 grandchildren, 30 plus Great Granchildren, and several Great, Great Grandchildren. She was preceded by 1 daughter, Roberta Lee Miller and 1 brother, James O. Tuck Sr.
Visitation will be 2-8pm, Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at Jones Family Mortuary with an Eastern Star Service starting at 7pm. Funeral services will be held at 2pm, Thursday, December 28, 2006 at Monrovia Christian Church with 1 hour of calling prior to the service. John Sichting and Kurt Alexander will be officiating. Juanita will be laid to rest at Mt. Pleasant at Hall Cemetery in Hall, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Monrovia Christian Church.
