John E. Stipp

John E. Stipp, 86, of New Whiteland, passed away Sunday, February 9th, 2025. He was born November 13th, 1938 in Indianapolis to his parents Raymond and Mary (Cobb) Stipp. He married Caroline J. (Montfort) Stipp on December 14th, 1958.

John is survived by his wife, Caroline. J. Stipp of New Whiteland; three sons: Gregory Stipp (Sherry) of Ohio, Todd Stipp (Donna) of Spencer, and Matthew Stipp (Sheri) of Florida; six grandchildren: Ryan, Ben, Amber, Daniel, Porter, and Shelby; and three great grandchildren: Emma, Heidi, and Lincoln.

John is preceded in death by both of his parents and two brothers: Tom Stipp and K-Bill Snively.

John, a proud graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in 1957, dedicated his life to service, joining the United States Air Force and bravely serving over in Korea before his discharge in 1961. With unwavering determination, he rose to President of Interstate Brick and Block in Indianapolis, working there for 42 years until retiring in 2004. A valued member of the Indiana Home Builders Association and the American Legion Post #106, John's commitment extended to his community as a Trustee at West Newton United Methodist Church and as Scoutmaster for Troop 135.

His passions included golfing, fishing, and hiking, and among his many achievements, earning the title of Kentucky Colonel stood out. John was admired as a kind and gentle friend, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 12 pm to 2 pm on Friday, February 14th at Jones Family Funeral and Cremation Service in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 2 pm following visitation at the funeral home. John will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
