John Wesley Lonabaugh Jr., 66, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, March 20th, 2022. He was born May 14th, 1955 in Camden, New Jersey to his parents, John Wesley and Evelyn (Maddocks) Lonabaugh. He married Phyllis Bevars on October 19th, 2021. John is survived by his wife, Phyllis Bevars of Indianapolis; two daughters: Jaimy (Kirby) Haskins of Martinsville and Rhonda (Ben) Bohart of Alaska; five grandchildren: Ryan, Kyle, Riley, Justus, and Pax; and two sisters: Debbie Ksiezniak and Jeannette Lonabaugh. John is preceded in death by both of his parents; and his sister, Danielia Gallente. John was a 1973 graduate of Gloucester City High School. Following graduation he met Marsha (Cole) in Anderson, Indiana and they married in 1975. He later continued his education and attended Anderson University for two years, then went to Ball State University for one year. John moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa in 1978, where he resided for 12 years. While there he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In 1990 he moved to Michigan and resided there until 1995. Then he moved to Wisconsin and resided there from 1995 to 2000. Once again he moved and this time to Illinois and resided there from 2000 until 2014. John moved to Mooresville in 2014 which was his final residency. John was a Pastor with the Church of God in Anderson, Indiana for 24 years before retiring in 2014. He was a Chaplain for Boy Scouts in Illinois, member of the Iowa Army National Guard, and was very involved in Habitat for Humanity. John loved wood working along with fishing. He was known for having a wonderful sense of humor. Family and friends may show their love and support from 12 pm (noon) to 1 pm on Saturday, March 26th at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1 pm following visitation at the funeral home. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville.
