John B. Cobb, 95, of Mooresville, IN, passed away peacefully on May 1, 2013. John was born to Raymond and Mamie (Craig) Cobb on October 22, 1917 in Owenton, KY. John married Kathleen T. (Taskey) Cobb on June 10, 1939. John was a Contracting Officer for The Department of Defense for 23 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mooresville, IN, Waverly Masonic Lodge #615, York Rite, Murat Shrine, and Indiana Sheriffs Association. He was also a past Chapter Dad of West Newton Demolay & Morgan County Sheriffs Department Horse Patrol. John was a Kentucky Colonel and loved horseback riding. He has lived in Mooresville, IN for the past 36 years, Indianapolis, IN for 43 years and his birthplace of Owenton, KY for 16 years. John is survived by three sons, John D. Cobb, Donald C. (Kathy) Cobb and Ron E. (Jamie) Cobb, all of Mooresville, IN; eight grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. John is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Mamie (Craig) Cobb; wife, Kathleen T. (Taskey) Cobb; a brother, Raymond Cobb Jr. and 2 sisters, Hattie Mae Stark and Alleyne Stout. Family and friends may attend calling hours from 4-8 p.m., Friday, May 3, 2013 and 12:00-1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville, IN. There will be a 7 p.m. Masonic Service on Friday, May 4, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary. Bill Van Horn will officiate the 1 p.m. Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, May 4, 2013 at Jones Family Mortuary. John will be laid to rest in White Lick Cemetery.
