Joan Belle Ratliff

Joan Belle (Stokes) Ratliff, 90, of Camby, passed away Friday, April 26th, 2024. She was born June 30th, 1933 in Indianapolis to her parents Homer and Mary (Jines) Stokes. She married the late Garland A. Ratliff on February 9th, 1952.

Joan is survived by her four children: Diana Riley (Larry) of Mooresville, Timothy Ratliff (Gloria) of Plainfield, Debbie Keller (Steve) of Plainfield, and Rodney Ratliff (Tami) of Plainfield; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Jack Stokes of Heritage Lake; one sister, Sue Halcomb of Belleville; and four sister in laws: Jolene Munns, Jeannie Davis, Myrtle Ratliff, and Betty Stokes. Joan is preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Garland A. Ratliff; and three brothers, Bill Stokes, John Stokes, and Homer Stokes.

Joan attended Ben Davis High School. She was a Homemaker. Joan was a member of Abundant Love in Indianapolis for several years where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school. One of her favorite things to do was spending time with her family. Joan was known by many as a loyal and humble woman with a servant's heart.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 1st and from 10 to 11 am Thursday, May 2nd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 am following visitation on Thursday, May 2nd at the funeral home. Joan will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
