Jesse Clayton Newkirk Jr., 58, of Indianapolis, passed away Tuesday, November 29th, 2022. He was born July 21st, 1964 in Indianapolis to his parents Jesse Clayton and Thelma Louise (McGee) Newkirk Sr. He was a resident of Indianapolis for most of his life.

Jesse is survived by his brother, Ronald "Ron" (Kim) Newkirk of Brownsburg. Jesse is preceded in death by both of his parents.

Jesse was a 1982 graduate of Decatur Central High School. He worked in construction off and on. Jesse enjoyed playing cards, especially poker and hearts. He was known as a simple man. Jesse was an outstanding wrestler and was an IHSAA State Heavy Weight Wresting Champion. Following high school, he continued his education and his football career at Indiana University and The University of Kentucky.

Family and friends may show their love and support from 10 am to 12 pm (noon) on Saturday, December 3rd at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville. A celebration of life service will be held at 12 pm (noon) following visitation at the funeral home. Jesse will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery in West Newton.
