Jerrold Schlangen

Jerrold G. Schlangen, 75 of Mooresville, IN passed away Thursday, June 7, 2007. He was born November 15, 1931 to the late Arthur F. Schlangen and Alice (Duffey) Schlangen in Indianapolis, IN. Jerrold married Mary Lou (Hunter) Schlangen on November 1, 1958. Jerrold has lived in Mooresville, IN for 14 years and in Largo, Florida from 1987 to 2007. He was a 1950 Cathedral High School Graduate and was a Korean Air Force Veteran. He was also a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Jerrold was a member of the Mooresville Knights of Columbus #7431, the Indianapolis Fraternal Order of Police #86, and Chairman of the Mooresville Boy Scout Troop #250 for several years. Before retiring in 1973, he was a Police Sgt. with the Indianapolis Police Dept. for 20 years. He was a Marion County Sheriff Deputy for 1 year and also Owner-Operator of J & M Guard & Security Inc. in Mooresville, IN for 5 years. Jarrold was survived by his Wife, Mary Lou (Hunter) Schlangen of Mooresville, In; 4 Children: Jerrold Schlangen Jr. of Florida, Catherine Tooley of Mooresville, IN, David Schlangen of Mooresville, IN, and Steven Schlangen of Mooresville, IN; and 7 Grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 1 Sister, Joanna Cagany and 1 Brother, Arthur R. Schlangen. Calling hours for Jerrold will be from 2-8pm, Wednesday, June 13, 2007 and 9:30-10:15am on Thursday, June 14, 2007 at Jones Family Mortuary(prior to the 10:15am Prayer Service). The funeral will be at 11:00am Thursday, June 14, 2007 at St. Thomas Moore Catholic Church in Mooresville, IN. Fr. Rick Eldred and Fr. Paul Landwerlin will be officiating the service. Jerrold will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Greenwood, IN. There will also be a Rosary Service June 13, 2007 at 7pm. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
