Jerald D. "Jerry" Oberle of Danville, IN died July 28, 2005. He was born January 6, 1937 to the late George H. Oberle and Margaret M. (Crutchfield) Oberle.He married Sharon (Burrows) Oberle on March 3, 1967. He was a 1955 Graduate of Decatur Central High School. He was in the Decatur Central High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was currently employed by Panther Racing in Indianapolis for the past 2 years. Previously, he retired as a supervisor from G.M. Truck and Bus in 1990 after working there for 30 years. He also had worked for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for 14 years and was a mechanic for the Indiana State Police for 7 years and was a IHSAA official for 10 years. He and his wife were members of Kingsway Christian Church.
He was survived by his Spouse: Sharon (Burrows) Oberle of Danville, IN; 4 Children: Terri L. Gregg of Indianapolis, IN; Keith A. Oberle of Indianapolis, IN; Kevin D. Oberle of Sheridan, IN; Lynn R. Smith of Avon, IN; 10 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers: George Oberle of Florida; David Oberle of Mooresville, IN. He was preceded in death by 1 Son: Jerald Timothy Oberle; 1 Sister: Jacqueline Dorrell.
Visitation will be 3-8pm Monday, August 1, 2005. Funeral Services will be officiated by Jeff Lewellyn and will be at 11am August 2, 2005 at Jones Family Mortuary. Memorial Contributions can be made to Kingsway Christian Church in Avon, IN.
